What is a Prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has additional training beyond dental school in the replacement of missing teeth and the restoration of natural teeth. A prosthodontist has graduated from dental school and has three or more years of advanced training and education accredited by the American Dental Association. This training involves literature reviews, lectures, dental laboratory experience, and treatment of patients.

Prosthodontic care includes:

  • esthetics/cosmetics
  • crowns
  • bridges
  • veneers
  • inlays
  • complete and removable partial dentures
  • dental implants
  • TMD-jaw joint problems
  • traumatic injuries to the mouth’s structures
  • congenital or birth anomalies to teeth
  • snoring and sleep disorders
  • oral cancer reconstruction
  • continued care

Prosthodontists are architects of complete oral rehabilitation; we can restore optimum function and appearance to your smile, and we are dedicated to the highest standards of care in the restoration and replacement of teeth.
